This is a single barrel, limited edition release from Copper & Cask Distilling Co. It features a straight bourbon whiskey aged for 8 years in traditional charred white oak barrels before undergoing a secondary finishing period in Sauternes wine casks. Sauternes, a sweet French dessert wine, imparts rich notes of honey, stone fruit, and light floral sweetness to the robust, spicy profile of the high-rye bourbon. Bottled at cask strength, this selection offers a complex and deeply layered sipping experience.
Tasting notes
Aroma: Honeyed apricots, white peach, toasted oak, and vanilla bean. Palate: Rich caramel, candied orange peel, baking spices, and a sweet vinous overlay. Finish: Long and warming with lingering notes of honey, dried fruits, and soft pepper.
