46 proof
Amaro Montenegro is an iconic Italian herbal liqueur created in 1885 by Stanislao Cobianchi, inspired by his travels and named after Princess Elena of Montenegro. It is produced using a secret recipe of 40 botanicals from around the world, which are macerated, distilled, and blended to create a balanced bittersweet profile. What makes it unique is its versatile flavor, combining notes of citrus, herbs, and spices, making it a staple in cocktails or enjoyed neat as a digestif.
Reviews
Widely available amaro. Worth it for cocktails especially as affordable Nonino alternative in Paper Planes or M&M shots. Skip if you hate strong floral notes neat.
floral rose/orange peel, sweet mild with light bitterness, tangerine, vanilla, black cherry, herbal. Pleasant in cocktails (M&M shot, Paper Plane sub), mixed opinions neat (soapy/rose for some, great for others).
