John J. Bowman Virginia Straight Bourbon Whiskey is produced by Virginia Distillery Company, honoring Colonel John Jacob Bowman, a Revolutionary War hero and early American distiller. This Pioneer Spirit Limited Edition Copper Still Single Barrel expression celebrates the distillery's innovative use of a traditional copper pot still for distillation, capturing the 'pioneer spirit' of early American whiskey making. Crafted from a mash of corn, rye, and malted barley, it is double distilled in copper pot stills imported from Scotland, then aged in new charred American oak barrels in Virginia's climate. Each single barrel is selected for its unique profile, offering notes of caramel, vanilla, orchard fruits, and subtle rye spice. Non-GMO grains and pure water from the Blue Ridge Mountains contribute to its purity. This limited release highlights the distillery's mastery of Virginia bourbon production outside Kentucky.
